RescueRobot: Modeling Complex Robots Behaviors in Emergency Situations
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper aims at studying complex behaviors of search and rescue robots in emergency situations. We used as environment of the simulation NetProLogo in order to: i) build a simulated scenario with robots, humans beings, and emergency exits, ii) endow robots with reasoning rules, and iii) evaluate robots behavior on the basis of two search strategies. Preliminary results show that one search strategy reaches better performance. Next studies will cover more simulations and different scenarios.

Non-Deterministic Behavior Modeling Framework for Embedded Real-Time Systems Operating in Uncertain Environments
While complex embedded real-time systems (ERTS) such as robots in operation, there is a possibility that unstructured and unrelated data may be gathered over a period of time through sensors and may result in unexpected behaviors or catastrophes. Without proper modeling of non-deterministic behaviors, implementing highly expected results to handle complex situations is expensive to the designer...
متن کاملOptimizing Traffic Signal Control for Emergency Evacuation
Agent‐Based Modeling (ABM) is an effective strategy for simulating the emergent properties of complex systems. This form of simulation models the behaviors of individual agents interacting with each other and with their world. ABM is well suited for problems such as modeling behaviors during emergencies, or critical incidents. These situations can range from getting people out of a burning buil...
متن کاملNonverbal Behavior Modeling for Socially Assistive Robots
The field of socially assistive robotics (SAR) aims to build robots that help people through social interaction. Human social interaction involves complex systems of behavior, and modeling these systems is one goal of SAR. Nonverbal behaviors, such as eye gaze and gesture, are particularly amenable to modeling through machine learning because the effects of the system—the nonverbal behaviors th...
متن کاملSelf-Reflective Risk-Aware Artificial Cognitive Modeling for Robot Response to Human Behaviors
In order for cooperative robots (“co-robots”) to respond to human behaviors accurately and efficiently in human-robot collaboration, interpretation of human actions, awareness of new situations, and appropriate decision making are all crucial abilities for corobots. For this purpose, the human behaviors should be interpreted by co-robots in the same manner as human peers. To address this issue,...
متن کاملModeling of Pressure Dependence of Interfacial Tension Behaviors of Supercritical CO2 + Crude Oil Systems Using a Basic Parachor Expression
Parachor based expressions (basic and mechanistic) are often used to model the experimentally observed pressure dependence of interfacial tension (IFT) behaviors of complex supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) and crude oil mixtures at elevated temperatures. However, such modeling requires various input data (e.g. compositions and densities of the equilibrium liquid and vapor phases, and molec...
